Senior Network Engineer
The candidate should be a senior-level network engineer with at least 10 years of experience in the network engineering field. Reporting to the VP of Network Engineering, the Sr. Network Engineer serves as the lead of a team of network engineers, providing high-level guidance and in-depth technical abilities. The candidate must meet the following list of requirements: Networking Well-versed in common network concepts including routing, switching, Voice over IP, Quality of Service, network security, acceleration and optimization, and high-availability. Has CCIE or equivalent technical proficiency. Experience with advanced network design and capacity planning. Able to demonstrate advanced troubleshooting abilities, combining the use of troubleshooting tools and experience to solve problems. Capable of understanding systems as a whole and the required components for communication and interoperability. Vast experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications including Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server. Familiarity with Unix-based operating systems such as Solaris, Linux, FreeBSD, or similar. Able to demonstrate knowledge of common programming languages and scripting languages to accomplish various automation tasks. Familiar with HTML and DHTML to create static and dynamic web pages and applications. Requirements Senior Network Enginner Professional Qualities Facilitates effective team interaction. Delivers informative, well-organized presentations. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Innovator Development Conducts effective progress evaluations in a timely manner. Mentors those with less experience through informal channels. Seeks and participates in development opportunities above and beyond training required by the company. Trains other innovators through both formal and informal training programs. Personal Requirements Eligible for a Department of Defense Secret clearance or higher. Eligibility includes the following requirements: o U.S. citizen o Clean background (no felonies, no drug or alcohol abuse) o Clean financial record (no bankruptcies, evictions, or liens) o No foreign interests (close relationships, financial interests, dual citizenship) Travel Requirements Willingness to travel – possibly as much as 100 days per year or more. Willingness to travel overseas to countries including Iraq and Afghanistan for short periods of time. |
